HARRISON J. BOUNEL ArtiCals@ MigVidz

A U-K reader wrote in and asked for clarification on the following three issues and I was more than happy to oblige…

HARRISON J. BOUNEL
: Once again our President comes under attack from conspiracy loons who think that Barack Obama bought a house under the false name of Harrison J. Bournel and that the place may or may not be used as a CIA safe house. Furthermore, the alleged social security numbeqr linked to the account has only 7 numbers, a dead giveaway that this is jhust another inane rumor catching fire on the internet. Don’t be surprised ato hear Limbaugh et al popping off about this in the weeks to come.

The only question is, what will they come up with next? No President in history has had so many false stories planted aboiut him, and they either center on his name, place of birth, religion or they question his patriotism. It is one thing to disagree vehemently with a President, another thing to assassinate his character. The Harrison Bounel story is just that—a story; something made up, in the spirit of Aesop or Hans Christian Anderson.

MEAT GLUE: I watched Dr. Joseph Mercola, the bane of the food industry, on a recent episode of The Doctor Oz Show. On this particular program, Dr. Mercola talked about meat glue, which is used to patch small pieces of beef together (because they are too small to sell individually) and then sell the product as prime cuts.

In a May 4, 2011 column at his website (mercola.com), Dr. Mercola wrote: “Meat glue is an enzyme called transglutaminase. Some meat glues are produced through the cultivation of bacteria, while others are made from the blood plasma of pigs and cows, specifically the coagulant that makes blood clot. When sprinkled on a protein, such as beef, it forms cross-linked, insoluble protein polymers that essentially acts like a super-glue, binding the pieces together with near invisible seams. The glue-covered meat is rolled up in plastic film, followed by refrigeration.

Meat glue is also used for pork, ham, lamb, chicken, imitation crabmeat, processed meats and fish products such as fish bvalls… transglutaminase is also used to "improve the general texture" of a variety of foods aside from meat, such as fat-free yoghurt and cheese.” To read article, click http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/05/04/has-your-meat-been-glued-together--why-you-need-to-know-and-avoid-this-dangerous-process.aspx here).

DA MOB: According to badexperiment.com, mobstalking :… is a popular expression coined for the support role that organized groups play in the 24-hour harassment of victims of psychological abuse. They may be moved into apartments or homes that adjoin the victim, drive in traffic surrounding the victim, or be in close proximity to the victim in other roles in his daily routine. Generally, they provide the non-stop pattern of small, cruel abuses designed as part of a larger scheme of psychological torture. Typically, they are managed by higher level covert organizations providing expertise, funding, technology and oversight (including through-the-wall surveillance and torture technology).”

This practice is a popular online tactic that has become popular among teens, but differs from cyberbullying, where the intent is to hurt or embarrass the victim. For instance, in a suicide that made national headlines, 18-year-old Tyler Clementi committed suicide after his roommate and a so-called friend streamed via the internet pictures of him and another man having sex. The roommate and “friend” could face up to 10 years in prison.

Cyberstalking is usually the domain of adults who “stalk or harass an individual, a group of individuals, or an organization. It may include false accusations, monitoring, making threats, identity theft, damage to data or equipment, the solicitation of minors for sex, or gathering information in order to harass. The definition of "harassment" must meet the criterion that a reasonable person, in possession of the same information, would regard it as sufficient to cause another reasonable person distress.” (Bocij, Paul. Cyberstalking: Harassment in the Internet Age and How to Protect Your Family. Praeger, 2004, p. 14.)

Oftentimes the victim is made to feel as if he brought the problem on himself, and in many cases the physical toll results in headaches, irritable bowel syndrome and even Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

‘Nuff said.
