My first day

and in another word: EXCITING!!

I got hold of Cornerstone's teacher's manual. I have been itching to get a hold of this book. Online it had a preview and i found it amazing... and also amazingly expensive (yeah? i'm a momma!) so i can't just get it.

I have started to read it, but somehow my ADD kicked in so i needed a distraction, and i need to rid me of some nasty thoughts. So here goes....


My colleague almost got the boot. His classes weren't working in the children's department. Somehow, his job was given to me. And my job was given to him except my early mornings. Since i am handling the prep class before moving to the NS class, i have decided to push all my student to his class. I know they're ready to do his classes, but they're all afraid (He doesn't bite!). Being their teacher it's my job to push them, and somehow, i was happy with this transition. There's a good chance that the school will open another adult session with my colleague to handle. I overbooked his classes.

And i was in his classroom, the one that i would be using to teach kids. It was a mess, so we had to clear it all out, and i must say: i have never seen so much wasted paper. =P nah... course i have. And that i have seen the efforts made, which i knew, from glimpse, that those will never work. It missed a couple of things, and while clearing up, i got a preview of what i would be handling, and what i need to do.

However, here is the overwhelming part: I AM HANDLING ALL CHILDREN'S CLASSES. Other than my own regular students, once a week, i would be handling the Korean teachers' classes. I am to "do" a conversation with them.. ALL OF THEM!! I am going to take every children's class lesson plans and PLAN for that once a week conversation, which would also mean that the topic i am to do should be related to their lesson for that particular WEEK.

Good God, what have i gotten myself into...

Oh, i forgot to mention this: The cornerstone manual is amazing. Not doing an ad, just telling you that this book, in case you're teaching privately, is a good investment. The teacher's manual costs about 100,000 Won with Cd, and the Children's manual costs about 50,000 Won. And it's all worth it.
